Cho Chang ~ Ravenclaw seeker; a year ahead of Harry at Hogwarts, and thought to be extremely pretty. [3,13]

Cleansweep ~ An adequate but superceded series of broomstick. [3,13]

Comet 260 ~ A broomstick; a joke beside the firebolt. [3,13]

Confundus Charm ~ A spell to confuse or deceive others. [3,21]

Crookshanks ~ A bow-legged, ginger cat [3,4]. JKR tells us that Crookshanks is actually half kneazle. [jkrowling.com]

Dementor ~ Rather unpleasant creatures that drain peace, hope and happiness from the air around them; dementors are the guards of Azkaban. [3,5]

Dervish & Banges ~ Wizarding equipment shop in Hogsmeade. [3,5]

Cedric Diggory ~ 'Tall, good looking' Hufflepuff seeker. [3,9]

Disapparate ~ To disappear, only to appear elsewhere.The first stage of Apparation. [3,22]

Dissendium ~ Charm to access a secret tunnel to Hogsmeade. [3,10]

Honeyduke's ~ Sweetshop in Hogsmeade. [3,5]

Impervius ~ A charm to make an object repel water. Found by Hermione Granger. [3,9]

Kappa ~ Water dweller that seeks to strangle. [3,8]

Dementors' Kiss ~ Their final weapon: excision of the soul. [3,12]

Knight Bus ~ A triple-decker omnibus, emergency transport for the stranded witch or wizard. [3,3]

Professor Remus J. Lupin ~ Teacher of Defence Against The Dark Arts (year 3). [3,5]

Walden Macnair ~ Executioner for the Committee for the Disposal of Dangerous Creatures. [3,16]

Marauder's Map ~ Details of Hogwarts castle and grounds, plus the positions of people, and routes to Hogsmeade. [3,10]

Mobiliarbus ~ A charm to move objects, such as Christmas trees. [3,10]

Mobilicorpus ~ A spell to move a body. [3,19]
